Dear Colleagues and Friends,
On behalf of the organizing committee, we are very glad to announce that the second Radio Astronomy Forum (RAF)
will be held during September 25-27, 2017.
The conference hotel and venue is located in Hanglong, a modern astronomical and tourism town
in China, about 150 km away from Guiyang.
RAF is aimed to be a drive and a brain storm for advancing FAST sciences.
Sponsored and organized jointly by the National Astronomical Observatories of Chinese Academy of Sciences and
the Qiannan Government of Buyi and Miao Ethnic Autonmous Prefecture,
Guizhou Province, RAF intends to be an annual international forum focused on radio astronomy.
The theme of RAF2017 is "The History, Status and Outlook of Large Scale Radio Surveys".
Radio astronomers and astrophysicists in all branches
are cordially invited to bring forth your foresight for FAST early sciences.
Registration is now open at the forum website (http://fast.bao.ac.cn/RAF2017 ).
Deadline for registration and abstract submission is July 31, 2017.
Registration could be closed earlier upon reaching the limit of 120 participants.
Conference fees are 2000 RMB (about 280 USD) for scholars and 1000 RMB for students.
The fees will be paid at reception desk and will cover meals of the three meeting days as well as the meeting banquet.
The preliminary schedule are a two-day forum and one-day excursion as follows:
Sept. 24: Check-in
Sept. 25-26: Presentations and Discussions (Draft Agenda)
Sept. 27: Excursion, Social Events and Activities (depending on weather condition, details will be announced later)
Sept. 28: Leaving
